The short version

  • Paperclip runs teams of AI agents. Plugins add features, and picking good ones is guesswork.
  • My directory is live at paperclip.businesspress.io with 33 plugins: 30 from the community and 3 official examples.
  • Every card says how far it was tested. Three say Tested because I ran them.

It's live

33 plugins for Paperclip at paperclip.businesspress.io. 3 are marked Tested, and every card says how far it got.

Paperclip runs teams of AI agents. Plugins add features to it, and most plugin pages look finished whether or not anyone has run them. I wanted a directory that tells you which ones somebody actually installed.

On 9 October I grew my catalogue from 21 to 33 listings and gave every one a label. By 14 October the directory was live: 30 community plugins and 3 official code examples. The three marked Tested are ones I installed and checked on our own Paperclip.

Three labels

Each card tells you how much to trust it before you install anything.

Tested · 3

I installed it on a Paperclip instance and checked it. The note says what the test covered and what it didn't.

Docs reviewed · 27

I read the source or docs. That shows requirements, install steps and package mismatches. It doesn't replace running it.

Official example · 3

Reference plugins from the Paperclip repository. Starting points for building, not things every install ships with.

What it does, and what it won't

It helps you choose. It never installs anything or touches your Paperclip.

Does

  • Search plus filters: category, evidence, host app, install method
  • A shortlist that stays in your browser
  • Source links and setup notes

Won't

  • Connect to your instance
  • Install anything for you
  • Call a plugin safe because it's listed

Browsing works with server-rendered pages and plain forms. JavaScript only adds live filtering and the shortlist.

Data that doesn't flatter

Three dates, cached stars and a visible "last refreshed" stamp, so old plugins can't pass as new.

  • Three dates, three meanings. Added to my directory, reviewed by me, released by the author. The "recently added" view and RSS follow my addition date only.
  • Stars aren't installs. GitHub stars and npm downloads are cached with the time of the last successful refresh. A failed refresh keeps the old timestamp on show.
  • Package mismatches get flagged. If the npm package and the repository don't line up, the card says so.

How new plugins get in

  1. You submit a repository URL and a screenshot. It stays private.
  2. A reviewer checks it and picks the label. Nothing publishes itself.
  3. Images are labelled too: a running plugin, a maintainer's image and a repository capture show different things. No real interface image means no image.

The business question

15 visitors in the 24 hours before 14 October, 20:30 UTC. Revenue: $0. The bet is that honest labels bring people back.

What I'm watching now that it's public: people opening source and setup notes, using the shortlist, following new additions and sending corrections. AI helps me find, read and list plugins fast. Keeping 33 listings accurate is the actual job.

The weekly recap carries the traffic from here. If either number on the cards changes, 33 or 3, the recap says why.
